OneOrlando Fund Board Hosts Town Hall Meetings to Get Input from the Public on the Draft Protocol for the Distribution of OneOrlando Funds

WHAT:

The OneOrlando Fund Board is encouraging input from victims’ families and survivors of the Pulse tragedy and the Orlando community on the draft Protocol that outlines the proposed process for the distribution of the OneOrlando funds directly to victims’ families and survivors.

Two town hall meetings will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. at the Amway Center to provide opportunities for the public to give feedback on the draft protocol. A copy of the draft protocol is available at OneOrlando.org.

WHERE:
Amway Center, 400 West Church Street

PARKING:
Parking for attendees will be available in the GEICO Garage located at 400 West South Street. Attendees should access the Amway Center via the 5th floor GEICO Gateway pedestrian bridge which connects to the Amway Center. Disabled parking is available on the 5th floor.

STREAMING:
For those members of the public unable to attend, a live steam will be made available for viewing on OneOrlando.org in both Spanish and English.

MEDIA LOGISTICS:
Media Registration:
Media interested in covering this event, must register ahead of time with the Central Florida Media Committee.

Media Entrance:
Media will be able to enter the Amway Center starting at 9 a.m. for the event. Media access will be provided at the media entrance located off of South Street on the backside of the arena.

Media Access in Public Comment Area:
Media will be able to watch and listen in the room in which the public comments are made but no persons will be able to individually film or record from this area, including no filming with cell phone devices. Media will be permitted to use phone, tablets and laptops for note taking but not photography or audio/video recording.

Video Feed and Still Photo Access:
One pool video and one pool still camera will be permitted in the room where public comments are heard. The feed from the video will go to the Media Room, the Orlando Magic Press Room, where approved media can watch, distribute and record the feed. News outlets may use their existing installed cables and transmission equipment installed in the Amway for live broadcast during Magic games. Still photos will also be distributed to approved media via a website such as Flickr or Dropbox.

Interview Opportunities:
Before or after the town hall meetings, interview opportunities will be made available to approved media in the Media Room, the Orlando Magic Press Room, at the Amway Center.

These interview opportunities will not be pooled and attending media will be expected to setup their own cameras and microphones.

Specific interview opportunities are still being finalized, but may include Kenneth Feinberg, the Fund Administrator and OneOrlando Board Members. Should anyone from the public making public comment wish to address the media, they will be provided access to the media in the Media Room.

Live Truck Parking:
Church Street and Division will be closed to provide parking for media live trucks. Church Street will close starting at 6 a.m. Media can access this closure for parking from Division.
