OneOrlando Fund Update

Orlando, FL – April 7, 2017 –Today, the OneOrlando Fund will begin the second and final distribution payments from the OneOrlando Fund.  Since the first distribution, an additional $2,080,931.82 in donations has been received.

On March 3, 2017, the OneOrlando Board voted unanimously to disburse the additional donations on a pro-rata basis to those who were verified as eligible for the initial disbursement of OneOrlando funds.  The guidelines for the second distribution will follow the same as the first distribution.  Payments will be disbursed in the same manner requested by each victim or family member for the first payment distribution. Below is the distribution of each category for the second and final distribution:

DECEASED:                                    $24,681.09

PHYSICAL INJURY:

24+ nights                            $21,101.22

16-23 nights                         $18,287.72

8-15 nights                           $12,309.04

3-7 nights                             $7,737.11

1-2 nights                             $4,571.93

ER/Outpatient                      $2,461.81

PRESENT:                           $1,758.43

 

In total, OneOrlando will disburse $31,665,931.82 on 308 claims.

The OneOrlando Fund has officially closed. The OneOrlando Board unanimously voted and approved that donations received as of April 1, 2017 will be directed to either the Contigo Fund (www.ContigoFund.org) or the Better Together Fund at Central Florida Foundation. ABOUT THE ONEORLANDO FUND:

The OneOrlando Fund was established through the generosity of businesses, foundations and individual donors. Following the horrific tragedy at Pulse, there was a tremendous outpouring from the community seeking to provide financial support. In response, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer announced the formation of the OneOrlando Fund.

Equality Florida, the GLBT Community Center of Central Florida (The Center) and the National Compassion Fund announced a partnership with the OneOrlando Fund to ensure all funds collected for victims are disbursed in a unified process that will expedite funds, ensure transparency and safeguard against fraud.

On Monday, September 26, 2016 the final distribution plan for the OneOrlando Fund was unanimously approved by the Board. The processing of payments from the OneOrlando Fund began on Tuesday, September 27, 2016.
